What should I do if I need a refund of my Pivot Interactives purchase?

Refunds are available to students who use the student-pay option on the Pivot Interactives site. We do not offer refunds to bookstore purchasers since we do not control the price or the payment for those purchases. For bookstore refunds, please contact your bookstore.

Refunds require different information based on the nature of the refund. Common situations include:

Situation #1: I double purchased my Pivot Interactives account.

What you will need:

  • The student email associated with your Pivot Interactives purchase.

How to solve the issue:

  1. Email us at info@pivotinteractives.com OR create a new message by clicking the chat icon in the right corner.

  2. Let us know that you made a double purchase and include your student email. We will refund one of these purchases.

  3. Note that once we issue the refund, it can take up to 5-10 days to be processed by your bank.

Situation #2: I dropped the class and no longer need my account.

What you will need:

  • The student email associated with your Pivot Interactives purchase.

  • The name of the course and the email of the instructor for the class that you dropped

  • Proof from your college or university that you dropped the course during the drop/add period of your university.

Note: We do not issue refunds for withdrawals. A "drop" occurs when you leave a class during the drop/add period of your college or university. A dropped class is a class that you ultimately do not pay for and is not recorded on your official transcript. Generally, the free drop/add period is within the first week or two of the course. Once you have paid for the course, the course is officially added to your transcript; leaving the class will result in a withdrawal from the course, which is marked on your transcript. We do not issue refunds for withdrawals.

How to solve the issue:

  1. Email us at info@pivotinteractives.com OR create a new message by clicking the chat icon in the right corner.

  2. Let us know that you dropped the course during your free drop/add period. You will need to include verification that you dropped the course during your free drop/add period such as a link to the specific page on your school's website showing when drop/add is for that semester. Do not simply link us to the main page of your school's website. If you do this, we will put your refund on hold until the specific page on your school's website is provided.

  3. You will also need to show that your instructor has dropped you from the Pivot Interactives class. Only your instructor can do this. If your instructor needs help doing this, direct them to our help article on dropping students. This can be verified either by an email from your instructor or if you provide us the class key (format: ck-xxxxxxxx) you used to join and we see you as being dropped on the roster.

  4. You need to include your email associated with your Pivot Interactives account.

  5. Note that once we issue the refund, it can take up to 5-10 days to be processed by your bank.

Situation #3: I joined the wrong class.

What you will need:

  • The class code for the correct class

  • Your professor

How to solve the issue:

Congrats! You don't actually need a refund. Your instructor can transfer you to the correct class with the correct class code. It's very easy: just show them this article on transferring students. The whole process takes less than a minute.

Situation #4: I purchased the code but I was not added to my class.

What you will need:

  • The student email associated with your Pivot Interactives purchase.

How to solve the issue:

  1. Email us at info@pivotinteractives.com OR create a new message by clicking the chat icon in the right corner.

  2. Let us know that you purchased the code, but you were not added to your class.

  3. We will issue you a single-use bookstore code upon verification. Using this code, you will be able to join your class at no additional cost. Simply log into your Pivot Interactives account and click "Join Class." Re-enter the join code (format: ck-xxxxxxxx) for your course, then on the payment page, enter the bookstore code provided to you (format: bp-xxxxxxxx) into the bottom box. This will enroll you in the class!

  4. No join code? That's okay. Click on the join link provided by your instructor and confirm the course information. On the "Sign Up" page, click on the "log in" button at the top of the page. Log in to your account. This will prompt you to pay for the course with the bookstore code. Enter the code and click join to be entered into your class.
