Overview

Instructors can assign activities that ask students to upload and analyze their own video. Teachers can either use (or modify) one of the pre-made activities in the Pivot Interactives Library, or create their own activity.

Use a Pre-made Video-Upload Activity

  1. Use the text search in the Pivot Interactives library to search for Video Upload.

  2. Click on one of the activities to preview it.

  3. If the activity suits your needs, copy it to your My Library.

  4. When you make a copy of the activity, a banner will appear; click this banner to open the activity in Edit mode.

  5. Modify the activity however you wish, then assign it to your students.

Create a new Activity using the 'Student Instance Upload' Component

  1. Go to one of the libraries listed in My Libraries and click the teal Create New Activity button on the right side of the screen.

  2. Enter text in the Name and Short Description as you normally would. Once you have done this, click Save to save the initial activity.

  3. Click Activity Content, then Add Section and enter text in the Name field at a minimum.

  4. In the Add Component selector, select the Student Instance Upload component, then click the + button.

This section is all you need to allow students to upload their own videos.

Notes:

  1. You may want to add a link to the student instructions for video upload in your instructions for the activity.

  2. ALWAYS save the activity after major changes! The editor does not have an auto-save feature.
