Overview
Once you've created your Pivot Interactives class and linked a Pivot Interactives assignment to a Schoology one, your students can click the assignment to launch Pivot Interactives.
Do NOT give out a class key or join link to students! This will prevent their grades from transferring to Schoology.
Here are the ways it can go to connect their Pivot Interactives account to their Schoology account.
Option 3: Your school is also using ClassLink or Clever rostering
Option 1: Student does not already have a Pivot Interactives account
When students click their first assignment, they'll be prompted to either log into an existing account or to create a new one. Students should click Create a New Pivot Interactives Account
Students may create their account with an email address and password, with Google, or with Microsoft
If students create an account with email and password, they will not need to remember this password once they finish this process. Their Schoology account will be linked to their Pivot Interactives account, so the password will be unnecessary.
If the course is configured as a student pay class, they'll be prompted to either enter a credit card number or a bookstore activation code before they can join the class. (they'll skip this step if the class is set up as institution pay)
Option 2: Students are already enrolled in the Pivot Interactives class connected to the Schoology course
When students click the assignment link in Schoology, they'll be prompted to either log in or create a new account.
Choose the login method that they've been using previously.
Once they click to log in, they'll be prompted to connect their Pivot Interactives account to their Schoology account.
Now the student's Pivot Interactives account and Schoology account are linked. The student will not need to log into Pivot Interactives to open activities in Schoology.
Option 3: Your school is also using ClassLink or Clever rostering
When students click the assignment link in Schoology, they'll be prompted to either log in or create a new account.
Once they click to log in, they'll be prompted to log into their account using your school's rostering service.
They will be prompted to connect their Pivot Interactives and Schoology accounts.
Option 4: Student has a Pivot Interactives account, but is not enrolled in the Pivot Interactives class connected with this Schoology course
When students click the assignment link in Schoology, they'll be prompted to either log in or create a new account.
Once they click to log in, they'll be prompted to connect their Pivot Interactives account to their Schoology account.
Now the student's Pivot Interactives account and Schoology account are linked. The student will not need to log into Pivot Interactives to open activities in Schoology.
