Troubleshooting tips and tricks

Your ClassLink administrator provisions the ClassLink LaunchPad with Single Sign-On. Once it has been added to your portal, you should be able to log in without any issues (or login screens!). However, sometimes this will pull an error.

Troubleshooting Step #1: The Password Loop

If you attempt to log in and it tells you that your password is invalid, you may be stuck in a password loop where ClassLink is trying to make you a password when you already have one. This will keep showing you an "invalid password" page and won't let you sign in.

Verify that you're using your teacher-created username and password. ClassLink SSO will not work for you unless you created your account and used the ClassLink SSO at creation.

To resolve this:

  1. Log out of Pivot Interactives (you may need to open it in a new tab and log out).

  2. Go to your password locker in ClassLink. Check to make sure the username and password match your Pivot Interactives. You may need to delete your existing credentials.

  3. Launch Pivot Interactives from the dashboard, which should bring you to the login screen. Log in with your username and password, which will prompt ClassLink to suggest storing your credentials. Allow ClassLink to store your information.

Troubleshooting Step #2: The "Trial Account" Error

If you DON'T have a Pivot Interactives account associated with your LaunchPad email and you attempt to launch Pivot Interactives from your LaunchPad, an account will be made for you. It will look like this:

Note: If you get this error, your email on ClassLink DOES NOT MATCH your Pivot Interactives email, which will cause rostering errors. You need to let your ClassLink administrator know about this immediately.

If you reach this screen and you've never had an account before, email us at info@pivotinteractives.com or reach out to your site administrator to have you added to the license.

If you reach this screen and already have an account, you should log out of that new account by clicking on your name and selecting Log Out, then log in with your correct credentials. This will save your credentials to your password locker and prevent future errors.
