FAQ: Can I use sensor data in calculations?

Absolutely! Sensor data is just like any data you type in.

When a sensor adds data to a data table, all it is doing is typing the data for you. As such, this data is a normal number that can be used just like any data that you type into Pivot Interactives.

To add calculated columns from ANY data:

#1. Add a column to the right of the data you want to use.

At the top of the column, click on the three dots (...) and select "Insert Column Right" to add a blank column for your calculations.

#2. Change the Column Formula

Once you have a blank column, click on the three dots in that column and select "Change Column Formula."

This will open a calculator which you can use to create a formula. Once you click "Submit," your calculation will run. You can even set up these calculations in advance, before capturing any data.
