How to install the Pivot Interactives app to Schoology

Overview

Install the Pivot Interactives app to Schoology to:

  • Have students click a Pivot Interactives assignment from within Schoology to create automatically Pivot Interactives account, link it to their Schoology account, and place them into the correct Pivot Interactives class.

  • Allow students to complete their Pivot Interactives assignments from within Schoology. They will never have to leave the Schoology website.

  • Allow grades to automatically be sent from Pivot Interactives to Schoology.

Installing the Pivot Interactives app will need to be done by someone with Schoology admin privileges. Connecting Pivot Interactives to Schoology will require a Pivot Interactives account.

Step 1: Install the Pivot Interactives App to Schoology

  1. Click to open the App Center Menu.

  2. Click App Center.

  3. Find the Pivot Interactives app, then click Pivot Interactives. Note: use your browser's In-page search function to do this quickly. CTRL + F on PC, Command + F on macOS.

  4. Click Install LTI 1.3 App.

  5. Read the consent notifications and click Agree, then Continue if you agree.

  6. Click Add to Organization.

  7. Click Install/Remove.

  8. Check the appropriate boxes to install to specific courses to all courses.

  9. Click Submit.

  10. Click Configure.

  11. Copy the Deployment ID. You'll need this for the next step.

Step 2: Connect Schoology to Pivot Interactives

Pivot Interactives is now added to Schoology. The next step is to connect Schoology to Pivot Interactives. This step can be done by either one of your school's Pivot Interactives License Administrators or by the Pivot Interactives support team.

If you're a Schoology Administrator and do not want or need to have a Pivot Interactives account, you can instead email the the deployment ID to support@pivotinteractives.com.

We will complete the installation for you. If this request is received during our business hours of 8am-5pm eastern time, Monday through Friday, we can usually complete this by the end of the day.

  1. Click Account

  2. Click Manage License

  3. Click LTI

  4. Click Schoology

  5. Paste in the Deployment ID

  6. Click Register

That's it! Teachers can now connect Pivot Interactives assignments to Schoology.
