When connecting Pivot Interactives to Canvas, D2L, or Blackboard using LTI, instructors or students may encounter a No LTI session error. This is caused by an incompatibility between the way a browser and the LMS handles cookies..

First, try clearing browser's cache and cookies. Here's how to do that.

If that doesn't work, in some cases, you may be able to resolve this by managing the cookie settings in your browser.

Safari

  • In Safari go to Preferences

  • Click the Privacy tab

  • Make sure the Block all cookies is unchecked

Also, you may need to uncheck Prevent cross-site cookies:

Chrome

Follow the instructions here to access your cookie settings. Specifically, make sure that the Block all third-party cookies setting is NOT selected.

Firefox

See this article on how to access your cookie settings for Firefox.

  1. Make sure Standard is selected.

  2. Find the section in the article titled Check sites that are blocked from setting cookies

  3. If any site with pivotinteractives in the URL is on this list, click Remove Website.

If you're still getting this error after trying these steps, please open a chat with Pivot Interactives support using the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
